COVID-19 Test Anterior Nares (Shallow Nasal Swab)
About Coronavirus (COVID-19)
COVID-19 is an infectious disease that can affect your airways and lungs, caused by the most recently discovered coronavirus.
This infectious disease was unknown until the outbreak, which originated in China in late 2019. Unfortunately, at the time of writing, cases of COVID-19 continue to rise daily across the globe.
The most common symptoms associated with COVID-19 are fever, tiredness and a dry cough. However, symptoms can take up to 14 days to appear, so it is difficult to know if someone has been infected ahead of these conditions appearing. In the meantime, infected people can spread the virus unknowingly. For this reason, rapid testing is used as an accurate and cost-effective way to quickly and efficiently detect both symptomatic and asymptomatic cases and help suppress the spread of the virus.
Please note that this test is CE marked for professional use only.

What is it:
The SureScreen COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test Cassette (Shallow Nasal) is a rapid screening tool to help diagnose COVID-19 infections in patients. It uses a less invasive shallow nasal swab and provides results within ten minutes.
SureScreen’s COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test Cassette (Nasal Swab) is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of COVID-19 antigen in Nasal Swab. The identification is based on the monoclonal antibodies specific for the Nucleocapsid (N) protein of COVID-19. It is intended to aid in the rapid differential diagnosis of COVID-19 infections.

How the test works:
The test uses a shallow nasal swab to identify monoclonal antibodies specific for the Nucleocapsid (N) protein of SARS-CoV-2. An antibody specific to the N protein of COVID-19 is separately coated on the test line regions of the test cassette. The extracted specimen reacts with the antibody to N protein of COVID-19 that are coated onto particles during testing. The mixture migrates up the membrane to react with the antibody to N protein of COVID-19. The presence of coloured lines on the test cassette will allow the user to interpret the results.
